VINCENT FIRE COMPANY
OBTAINS NEW RESCUE ENGINE

In December, 2001, a new Rescue Engine was delivered to the Vincent Fire House on Race Street. It replaces a 1980 Pumper. The new truck is capable of handling all fire emergencies and any vehicle extrication. The design of the rescue system allows the equipment to be operational in 2-3 minutes. It has a 1500 gpm (gallons per minute) pump and a 1000 gallon water tank. There is seating for five firefighters, plus the driver.

This truck will also be supplementing the emergency squad by assisting with heart attack patients and unconscious subjects. It will carry a defibrillator, oxygen and all emergency medical supplies needed to render first aid at Motor Vehicle Accidents, disasters or life-threatening incidents.

Southampton Township residents interested in seeing the new rescue engine are cordially invited to stop in at the Fire House on Race Street, Vincentown. The welcome mat is always out, and one of the volunteers will be happy to show you around and answer your questions.

We have produced below several photos of the training that took place to familiarize our fire fighters with the new fire vehicle.
